The hot summer weather makes everyone want to hit the cool water!

This day trip is more like a week-long adventure. While COVID-19 policies are impacting some of the amenities, there are plenty of options for water-related fun. Spend a day in the water in several of our communities throughout O'Brien County.

Sheldon Outdoor Aquatic Center

The Sheldon Outdoor Aquatic Center offers much to do with slides, diving boards and zero-depth entry.

City of Sanborn Aquatic Center

The City of Sanborn Aquatic Center allows residents and visitors to cool off with a flume water slide, high and low diving boards, zero-depth entry, lap lanes, a baby fish slide, a tiki hut, and geysers. Enjoy hours of fun on hot days!

Hartley City Pool

The Hartley City Pool provides a place to cool off with a water slide and diving boards. It also includes a kiddie pool for little ones.

O'Brien County Lakes

If beaches are more your style, three are plenty of lakes to play on in O'Brien County. Check out the swimming beaches at Douma Park near Sanborn, Dog Creek Park near Sutherland, and Mill  Creek Park near Paullina. Most of the beaches do not include lifeguard services. Mill Creek Park does have a lifeguard during some hours of the day. check the posted sign.
